   Heelan was born in Andover (Massachusetts) to Kimball Heelan, actress and Lowell Public Schools teacher, and Kevin Heelan playwright. Conor is her older brother. The father of Heelan, as well being a performer, has been a faculty member at Phillips Andover Academy since 1983.
